The train station of Tangier was newly constructed to replace the old one of Mghogha and to be a pillar of transportation infrastructure of Tangier connecting its passengers to the rest of major cities in morocco. The station was inaugurated in 2003 and its design reflects the typical Moroccan way of building: modernity mixed with traditional ornamentation.
The station covers a surface of 1880 m², contains 3 platforms, a parking of more than 3000 m². ONCF is Morocco’s train operator and provides good and reliable services to its customers, and always attempt to improve the stations and the travel conditions for its varied passengers. The availability of the trains is so frequent that you don’t have to wait for your train for a long time.
The Tickets are relatively cheap and you can choose between second and first class which is more comfortable and spacious though still not very expensive. Moreover, there are direct or indirect routs that include stops and changes of trains depending on your destination. A normal trip from Tangier to Marrakech will take 10 hours. To check the exact hours and available tickets you can visit ONCF website or contact their specialized 7/7 call centre "Ketary" for all kinds of reservation and service information.
